Description: A monumental French Renaissance Revival carved oak bibliotheque. The projecting molded cornice surmounts a foliate frieze centered by a winged grotesque mask. Paired arched glazed doors open to an interior fitted with adjustable wooden shelves and are flanked by full-length female caryatids above pendant fruit and flower garlands. High-relief trophy panels depict musical, artistic, and architectural attributes. A deeply carved lower drawer, paterae molding, leaf-carved plinth, and compressed bun feet complete the architecturally imposing case.

Condition: Presents very well with an old dark surface, scattered scratches, abrasions, finish variation, minor shrinkage, small edge losses, and wear consistent with age and use. The lower drawer retains hand-cut dovetailed construction and appears functional. The doors retain clear glass panels and interior shelving. Glazing and hardware appear period or original.
